Faulkner County, Arkansas

Road construction begins on I-40 in Faulkner County, Arkansas. This marks the beginning of a $100 milliion dollar construction project that will widen the freeway from 4 to 6 lanes on a 20 mile stretch from U.S. 65 through Conway to I-430.  This project is expected to be completed in 2014.  

County Judge Preston Scroggins encourages travelers to be patient and careful when travelling in these construction zones.  He also suggests that you might just avoid the interstate and enjoy some of the county roads and the beautiful countryside you can see.
