A ceremony dedicating a flagpole to the late James (Jim) Gordon Havens was held at the Veteran's office on Robinson Ave. in Conway, November 9, 2011 .  Jim held the office of Veteran's Services Officer from 2007 to 2010.  County Judge, Preston Scroggin, described Havens as being a great help to veterans across Faulkner County, as well as across the state of Arkansas.

A flag was raised by the current Veteran's Service Officer Albert Meyer, and other county employees while a plaque was unveiled at the base of the pole, dedicating it to Mr Havens.  In attendance was several county employees, county, state, and city officials, as well as service club members and Jim's family members.
