The Faulkner County Office of Emergency Management and area fire departments would like to share with you the following information concerning disaster response for volunteers and affected storms victims:

  • All volunteers for tornado relief must now check in at the Vilonia Fire Department. The number to call with questions is 501-615-4895. The number will be functional between the hours of 7 a.m. and 5 p.m.  They will receive an ID and their assignments there.

  • No volunteers will be allowed to enter the disaster zone without an ID.

  • Victims from the tornado can register with the Red Cross at the Friendship Baptist Church.

  • Victims from the flood event may find shelter and necessary items at the Red Cross shelter located at the Friendship Baptist Church - registration for the flooding event has not been initiated as of yet at the Red Cross shelter. The contact number for the Red Cross shelter is 501-428-4682.

  • Victims of both storm events can be fed and seek shelter at the Vilonia Senior Citizens Center or the Oak Bowery Baptist Church Family Life Center.

  • All volunteers must wear appropriate safety gear for their activity.

  • All volunteers are encouraged to carpool to reduce traffic congestion.

  • For those affected by the flood event and in need of sandbags to protect your property, they may be picked up at the following locations: (1) Lawrence Landing, (2) the junction of Hwy. 365 and Brannon Landing, (3) Caney Creek, (4) Paradise Landing, and (5) Vilonia City Hall.

  • It is suggested to anyone residing in low lying areas to evacuate those areas due to the continuing storm activities and potential flooding.
