Faulkner County, Arkansas

April and May were very stormy times for our county and the state. On April 25th a tornado tore threw our county and the Vilonia area. Five lives were lost. Over 200 homes were damaged and around 100 destroyed. The damage is in the millions. The path of the storm also was littered with countless downed trees on homes, roads and outbuildings. On April 30th we had a record setting rain event in the same areas. Numerous homes were flooded. The Lake Conway area was very hard hit. We have been hard at work clearing debris, fixing wash outs and trying to help where we can. This will be a long term process recovering from these events. The damage is great but over time we will recover. FEMA is working in our area to help citizens. If you have questions on FEMA or other disaster assistance please call OEM at 450-4935.
