Circuit Clerk, Rhonda Wharton recently learned that Faulkner County Court has been approved by the Administrative Office of the Courts for an Electronic Filing Project.  This project will work with Contexte, a program used by the courts, and allow attorneys or individuals who are registered in the system to file documents in Circuit Court cases electronically.

Rhonda said, This will be a big help to the Circuit Clerk’s Office in getting documents processed quickly and efficiently, plus it will be a great space and money saver when it is completely implemented and we are able to “go paperless”.  Our office is required to maintain every Circuit Court case permanently; once we are e-filing we can do away with keeping paper files for future cases.  I will still be required to keep the older cases, but anything e-filed will not have to be kept in paper form.  This will save money in purchasing case files and all the related things for them, including file cabinets.  Our project will not begin until 2016 and it could be as late as 2017 before we are completely implemented, but this is very exciting for us to move forward in this way.  Currently, Pulaski County is the only county in the State of Arkansas that is e-filing and current projects underway are Hot Spring and Grant Counties, with Hot Spring District Court, Benton County, Crawford County, and Lonoke County Circuit Courts set to begin later this year.  Along with Faulkner County, the Administrative Office of the Courts approved projects for Arkansas Supreme Court and Court of Appeals, Miller County Circuit Court, and Craighead County Circuit Court.
